Quick Troubleshooting

"Note not found" error

The note was already read (possibly by you accidentally) or has expired. Create a new note and resend.

Notification email not received

Check your spam folder. Ensure you entered the correct email when creating the note. Notifications may be delayed by a few minutes.

Password prompt not appearing

Ensure the note was created with a password. If the password prompt does not appear, the note may not have been created with one.

Recipient can't open the link

Ensure the full URL was copied, including the # fragment. Some messaging apps truncate long URLs. Try sending via email instead.

Security Alert: Phishing Clone Sites

Multiple phishing clone sites impersonating Privnote have been documented. The most notable is privnotes.com (note the extra 's') — a site that looks identical to Privnote but intercepts your messages. Security researchers have documented it stealing cryptocurrency wallet addresses by modifying note content before delivery.

Always verify you are on privnote.com before typing any sensitive information. Bookmark the official site to avoid typosquatting attacks.
